{"id":333,"date":"2020-06-28T07:30:00","date_gmt":"2020-06-28T07:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/fredborg.org\/?p=333"},"modified":"2020-12-23T20:45:48","modified_gmt":"2020-12-23T20:45:48","slug":"azure-devops-as-ticket-system","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fredborg.org\/?p=333","title":{"rendered":"Azure DevOps as Ticket System"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are currently using Azure DevOps or have used it in the past, you know what an&nbsp;awesome&nbsp;product it is, you can use it to do pretty much anything you could dream of when it comes to project&nbsp;management, and it supports all steps of your development flow. However, since it has so many tools, many people find it too complicated to allow end customers into Azure DevOps, meaning that many companies will spilt up their workflows, having Azure DevOps to handle all the&nbsp;development, and then using a second system to handle project&nbsp;management&nbsp;and dialog with the customers <a href=\"https:\/\/emojipedia.org\/pensive-face\/\">&#x1f614;<\/a>. But what if I told you that you can let your customer create Bugs, Tasks, or feedback directly from their Business Central web client? Well, this is indeed&nbsp;possible&nbsp;and without having to write any code and only a&nbsp;minimal&nbsp;amount of setup <a href=\"https:\/\/emojipedia.org\/relieved-face\/\">&#x1f60c;<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">First, you must add the users that you wish to allow to create Tasks in your Azure DevOps backlog, to do this the user must have a Microsoft account, next you must add them to your Azure DevOps organization, to do this click the Organization Settings in your Azure DevOps.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"255\" height=\"243\" src=\"https:\/\/fredborg.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/brave_f2R2yV3bPb.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-334\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Go to users and click add user&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"709\" height=\"474\" src=\"https:\/\/fredborg.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/brave_vJiRiyXRGF.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-335\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fredborg.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/brave_vJiRiyXRGF.png 709w, https:\/\/fredborg.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/brave_vJiRiyXRGF-300x201.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 709px) 100vw, 709px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Next fill out the email address of the user that you wish to add, set their access level to Stakeholder and choose whatever projects that you wish the user to have access to.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"475\" height=\"407\" src=\"https:\/\/fredborg.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/brave_fjdAuvDRhe.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-336\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fredborg.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/brave_fjdAuvDRhe.png 475w, https:\/\/fredborg.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/brave_fjdAuvDRhe-300x257.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 475px) 100vw, 475px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is important that you choose stakeholders since they are free, they also have a limited access, but enough for creating and following Tasks and bugs in Azure DevOps. Next the user must go to Chromes&nbsp;Web shop&nbsp;and install the&nbsp;extensions&nbsp;called Test &amp; Feedback&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/chrome.google.com\/webstore\/detail\/test-feedback\/gnldpbnocfnlkkicnaplmkaphfdnlplb?hl=da\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/chrome.google.com\/webstore\/detail\/test-feedback\/gnldpbnocfnlkkicnaplmkaphfdnlplb?hl=da<\/a>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"564\" height=\"254\" src=\"https:\/\/fredborg.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/brave_DBAVE6r0VU.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-337\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fredborg.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/brave_DBAVE6r0VU.png 564w, https:\/\/fredborg.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/brave_DBAVE6r0VU-300x135.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 564px) 100vw, 564px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once it is installed you should see a beacon icon in your browser click it and go to settings&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"480\" height=\"304\" src=\"https:\/\/fredborg.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/hY0sl9kRkY.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-338\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fredborg.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/hY0sl9kRkY.png 480w, https:\/\/fredborg.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/hY0sl9kRkY-300x190.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Insert the URL to your Azure DevOps, it will then ask the user to login, afterwards you will see a list of&nbsp;available&nbsp;projects, choose the one that is desired. Which will send an email to the customer telling them what has happened, with a link to the bug <a href=\"https:\/\/emojipedia.org\/star-struck\/\">&#x1f929;<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And that is it, I hope this shows you that you can indeed use Azure DevOps as your ticket system towards your customers and with the plugin, it could not be any easier to create well-documented tasks and bugs for Business Central as well as for NAV <a href=\"https:\/\/emojipedia.org\/smiling-face-with-halo\/\">&#x1f607;<\/a>.
